Mail Only FAQ
  1. Why do I need to sign up for the chargeable mail services?
    This package allows you to access your email account via webmail or an email client from any location. If you do not connect to the Internet via an Ecosse dial up service you will need to subscribe to this package.

  2. What is the charge for the service?
    The charge is £19.95 per annum.

  3. How do I sign up for the service?
    To register for the chargeable package log into My Account from the Ecosse website, log in with your username and password and click on Bolt-ons from the left panel. Enter your credit/debit card details and your account will be upgraded at the end of registration.

  4. What happens if I do not wish to sign up?
    If you do not sign up for the mail only package you will have access to your email account for 2 weeks until the 26th June upon which date access to your account will be denied. If you try and log in after this date you will receive automated emails advising of the upgrade.

  5. What happens to my emails if I do not sign up for the service?
    We are providing users 2 weeks to sign up for the package which will ensure you can then connect to your email account from any location. We will not be deleting your emails and will endeavour to assist you after this time to retrieve your emails if you do not wish to sign up. Should there be any changes to this we will advise you although we recommend you sign up to the service to ensure continuation of service.

  6. What happens if I dial up via Ecosse but regularly use my email account from another location?
    When you connect with the Ecosse dial up number you will be able to access your email account. If this is regularly access via a different connection you will receive automated emails upon logging in. If you do use a different location on a regular basis we suggest either dialling up where possible to the Ecosse dial up number shown on the Ecosse website, alternatively if this is not possible users will need to register for the mail only package which will ensure access to your email account wherever they are.

  7. What is My Account?
    My Account is a secure online area where you can upgrade your account, amend personal and payment details and send our support centre emails. Please note we do not accept emails from anywhere other than via My Account.

  8. Who do I contact should I have any queries?
    If you have any queries with regards to the mail only services please contact our support centre on 0871 424 0101. Calls are charged at National Rate and lines are open Monday-Thursday 9am-5pm and 9am-4pm Fridays.
